Leyla is on a (possibly permanent) vacation. Without giving away a lot of the RP behind it, she's stuck in Dorne for the moment, and waiting to hear from her family if she can return. In the meantime, and because I've been sick IRL and haven't been able to work, I rolled a banner house character.
Meet Cyrenna Hightower.
I rolled a banner for a few reasons. Firstly, I wanted the option of bringing Leyla back if RP permits it, and secondly - there are so many awesome stories to be had by banner houses!
The Hightowers are a noble house in the Reach. Once petty kings in their own right, they are one of the oldest houses in all of Westeros. Before the Targaryens came, Oldtown (which the Hightowers oversee) was the largest city on the continent, and a font of culture and trade.
They are as wealthy as the Lannisters, and can field a third of the Reach's army (which canonically, is the largest army in Westeros.) More than that, they are patrons of the arts, and religion. The Starry Sept (which was once the seat of the High Septon, and sometimes still is) is located in Oldtown, as is the Citadel, where Maesters go to train.
Because of this, the Hightowers are an extremely influential house. So much so, there was once a Hightower Queen, whose children began "The Dance of the Dragons" in addition to numerous Hightower lords being Hand of the King.
